Reflexology

Reflexology is a non invasive treatment, that is beneficial for many ailments. It is believed to assist in calming conditions such as migraines, back pain or digestive problems and is used as a tool for stress relief and relaxation.  So having a Reflexology treatment is a lovely way to pamper oneself with added health benefits.

So what does having treatments of Reflexology promote. What can it do for you?

It is belived to promote:

  • Health & Vitality
  • Deep relaxation
  • Elimination of toxins
  • Feelings of wellbeing
  • Creativity & productivity

When you are, as nature intended, firing on all cylinders, healthy and happy your body can do amazing things.  It can get over minor ailments like colds quickly and efficiently, or even prevent you getting them at all.  When your immune system is working well, you are well.

So for example if you are in a state of continued stress, what’s going to happen?

Your adrenal glands are pumping unnecessary amounts of the hormone adrenalin and as you are probably not getting chased by a tiger, (apologies to those who have been) it is an unnecessary amount!  Your heart rate rises and long term adrenal activity can lead to high blood pressure, your digestive system closes down, therefore you are not digesting food effectively even if you are eating well, and vitamins like B & C that are important to a healthy functioning immune system are depleted and therefore you are more susceptible to illness.

This is just one example so you can see the importance of keeping your body and all it’s systems in the best possible shape.

Relaxation is key to this, and can often be the first step to recovery of certain conditions.  It is the antidote to a state of alert.

I truly believe, after treating many clients for many conditions, that Reflexology is a wonderful tool.  It is also believed to help on a more personal level helping people to deal with feelings and emotions like anxiety and bitterness.  I have had clients say after treatments that they felt really calm and serene, like all their worries had left them, or that they had worked out a problem whilst in a state of calm and could now see how they should deal with it.  It is after all rather difficult to feel negativity when deeply relaxed.
